We spent just two days here, quite a contrast to New Zealand, of course. We rode the Big Wheel, ate Vietnamese food in Chinatown, prepared for the next stage of our trip in Little India and generally looked around at the highrise buildings.

Cradoc was very upset, however, as there were no dragons to be seen. Eventually, he found the explanation - the Year of the Ox has just begun, so all other animals have been banished! He is already saving up to return in a few years' time when his fellow creatures will be celebrated in style.

The Botanic Gardens were the highlight of our visit. They house the national orchid display, which was lovely.
